Padma Resort Bali at Legian’s New Rooms and Lagoon

Category: Facts, News, Press Release, Refurbishments – Padma Resort Bali 9:44 am

Lagoon Access RoomThe highly anticipated renovation of Padma Resort Bali at Legian is currently two months ahead of schedule and the soft opening will be on 18 July 2010. This early finish is perhaps a first on the island of Bali where building delays and structural complications are common. Yet with meticulous planning Padma has managed to overcome the odds and the property will be fully operational in time for the peak summer season.

This USD 10 million project extends to the aesthetic refurbishment of 178 guest rooms and the creation of a 104 metre lagoon styled swimming pool. Once it is unveiled, the lagoon facility is expected to introduce a whole new level of luxury to Legian area.

The renovation will see the launch of several new room categories catering the needs of a wide audience of international travellers. The Deluxe Room explores the island’s creative heritage with customised furnishing and unique pieces of artistry. The spaciously appointed ground floor Premier Room has been designed to accommodate parents with children.

However, it is the Lagoon Access Room that has become the talk of the travel industry. A total of 22 rooms will feature a private terrace and the privilege of direct access into the crystal clear waters of a tropical lagoon. This exclusive room category will be the ultimate indulgence for honeymooners or couples seeking a restful environment for some quality time out.

The lagoon itself recreates the ambience of an exotic retreat with a visually inspiring landscape of native greenery. It is encompassed by a generous sundeck fashioned out of reclaimed timber that gives the setting a timeless appeal. Small islands within the lagoon feature carved stone statues depicting Bali’s legendary barong and other mythical creatures. There is even a grotto complete with waterfall to enhance this innovative facility.

The sunken Barong Pool Bar & Café is expected to become the social hub of the lagoon where guests can enjoy an extensive menu of refreshments and light bites. Eventually, the lagoon setting will also be used as a backdrop to host an array of innovative wining and dining events.

General Manager of Padma Resort Bali at Legian, Mr. Tjipjanto Soerjanto, comments,
“The creation of the lagoon together with the room refurbishment is in fact the second phase of a multi million dollar renovation project that has been gradually being carried out in stages to minimise guest disturbance. Every property of a certain age must evolve to remain current in Bali’s highly competitive marketplace. It is our vision to become a top quality resort in the heart of Legian yet retain elements of Bali’s unique cultural and artistic heritage.”
