Padma Resort Bali Takes Part in Earth Hour to Make a Difference

Category: Press Releases – Padma Resort Bali – 1:53 pm

60Legian, Bali, March 27, 2009 – On March 28, 2009, Padma Resort Bali will support the Earth Hour by turning off lights in areas such as public areas’ decorative lighting, and guestrooms’ balcony. At lobby areas and restaurants, all main lighting will be turned off and replaced by a number of natural candles. Ceiling lamps along the corridors and public toilets will be turned on for safety reasons.

WWF initiated the Earth Hour movement that encourages people around the world to save the energy for our loving mother earth commemorating the Earth Day in April 22 and Padma Resort Bali is positively in favor of this effort to save nature for the future. With more than 500 cities and towns participating in this event, Padma Resort Bali pledged to make a difference by this action that will hopefully be brought up in Global Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen this year.

Padma Resort Bali’s participation in Earth Hour may be Padma’s first time but contributing to the nature by saving energy is Padma’s regular involvement during Nyepi/Seclusion Day that happens to fall on March 26, 2009. In conjunction with Nyepi Day celebrated in Bali, Padma Resort proudly announced its contribution of 1440 minutes of no electricity, which resulted in 540 kWh saving and is equal to reduce 1242 lbs CO2. It is a number that encourages the spirit to keep preserving the earth by doing every possible effort in making the world a better place to live in. Save planet earth, and let’s do it with Padma Resort Bali.
