What is considered to be an interesting topic for some might seem boring and monotonous to others and there have been numerous incidents where strong enmity has festered between two experts in the same field simply due to difference of opinion.

Now this can hardly be termed as good news if you want to look at it but it does make the arguments much more interesting where you get to see different sides of the same coin.

When it comes to subjects, can there be anything more complicated than science and mathematics? What if the two are combined together? Well, people find it difficult to manage only one but if both come under the same roof, you can be sure that sparks would fly.

Optical Analysis

There are many subsets in science but today we are going to take up a topic that is quite complicated but this article would have none of it except plain and simple terms to understand things in a better perspective.

Optical Coating is one such topic and it is defined as a coating of two or more thin layers come together and placed on an optical object such as a mirror or lens that alters the entire process in which the given optic plays with the light by emitting and transmitting it in an extended manner.

Optics itself is quite a strong word where you get to study and analyze about the behavior and speed of light through its many properties including encountering particles of matter like solid liquid and gaseous particles along with a study of atoms and molecules in their truest and most original form.

When you hear about the word optics, it automatically signifies that there is going to be light, waves, transmission, chemical equations and the study of various particles that make up an interesting cornucopia of mechanisms that are waiting to be discovered and tapped into.

Optical coatings too are of the same category but a different branch altogether as it involves studying the magnificent phenomena called light about how it is the fastest in the world that travels way ahead of sound and mind.

Types

It goes without saying that as complex a branch of study that optical coating is, there are going to be different types that make up an interesting subset that most of you would want to know about.

The first is the dielectric coating where two electric insulators are presented in a polarizing format so that they are used into an electric field in order to apply produce electrical charges.

Next is the metal coating where you have metals involved to make up various characteristics of the mirror so that they are brought out into the broader spectrum of light but one that is more expensive than silver coating.

Gold coating is the most expensive of all but due to its brightness, the reflection is barely visible to the naked eye where the wavelength is lower than 500 nm but the rate of vision is nearly 90% which is what gives it a golden shine.
