A popular saying is “a little goes a long way,” and at the local dollar store, that phrase is really true. I always believe it’s the thought that counts, so don’t spend a fortune on a thoughtful holiday gift. Dollar stores, feature a wealth of items which can be transformed into fantastic gifts for friends and family.

Stretch your dollars by creating inexpensive gift baskets. Start with the container: The dollar store has a wealth of choices, including a variety of adorable plastic bins, bowls, glass jars, and buckets. Choose a receptacle then fill it up with inexpensive finds. I have made special candy jars, filled Christmas stockings, and created craft kits all from simple dollar store items. Here are a few ideas I discovered during a recent trip to Dollar Tree. If the budget of the person is low, then the person should go with cheap door gifts singapore. The payment should be done from safe and secure means to get the benefit. Different methods are available with the purchasers to get the benefit with less spending of time and efforts.

Beautiful Gifts for Ladies

Tweens and teens will enjoy a lovely beauty-themed gift. Fill a small, colorful bin with nail supplies, like polish, files, remover, cotton balls, and nail scissors for an at-home manicure gift basket that costs just a few dollars. Dollar stores often stock cosmetics as well, and I’ve seen close-outs on high-end department store brands in some shops. Fill a make-up bag with your finds.

Bath items, such as sponges, bubble bath, soaps, and scrubs also make a nice spa basket on a budget. Items for pampering are a great reminder to moms to take some time out for themselves. Add a new novel or a book of inspirational quotes in the mix.

For the Guys

Choosing gifts for men, both young and old, can be difficult. But most guys have a car, and might enjoy a car care kit, with auto items in a plastic bucket. Search out soap, towels, window cleaner, paper towels and air fresheners. The hardware aisle also has small tools, perfect for creating a fix-it kit. Include screwdrivers, tape measures and other items for quick home improvement jobs.

Creativity and Characters for Kids

At my local dollar store, I have found many gifts for my kids, including nice board books, as well as art supplies for my craft-happy tween daughter. For a young child, load up a plastic bin with coloring books, drawing pads, crayons, markers, stickers, puzzles and reading books.

Look for items with a character theme. We love Disney, and our local Dollar Tree often has items with characters like Mickey Mouse or the Disney princesses. Fill a container with items relating your recipients’ favorite character.

For a family on the go, compile a travel box with puzzle books, card games, small toys, and snacks. Parents will appreciate the collection when they head out on a road trip.

Fun for Family and Friends

My family loves to enjoy a night of fun together playing games or watching movies. Fill up a plastic bowl with movie night snacks, like popcorn, candy, and nuts. If the store stocks DVDs, add a few for a perfect flick-friendly gift. A game-themed gift is also a great idea: Include cards, dice, games, puzzle books, and puzzles in a storage bin. Add a small notepad and pencils for keeping score.

Head to the kitchen and food aisle to create a special gift for the baker. Fill a mixing bowl with baking ingredients, wooden spoons, towels, measuring cups and measuring spoons. Or create a pasta basket by filling a colander with a box of pasta, jar of sauce, container of Parmesan and a pasta serving spoon. Check the book display for a cookbook to add to the collection.

Personal Touches

For an elderly relative, stock up on puzzle books and jigsaw puzzles. Add a box or two of specialty teas and a cute mug, a box of cookies or can of nuts for a small treat. Or fill a small photo album with new family photos.

Speaking of photos, finish your shopping trip in picture frame aisle. Dollar stores often have a decent selection of frames, but think outside of the box. Not the right color? Don’t despair. I’ve used spray paint to create custom frames in the right color. Add a photo and it’s a great gift for any family member without breaking the bank.

With just a few dollars, you can please any recipient on your holiday gift-giving list by shopping at the dollar store.
