Be prepared to take impressive pictures on your adventures by selecting the right equipment to pack in your camera bag. Maybe you’ve pictured the possible vistas and can’t wait to see how well your camera handles the most challenging scenes. Get the essentials, then go out there and have a great time finding out what your camera can do.

1.Get the right camera bag:

a.The camera should comfortably fit the camera bag. Allow some room for keys, cell phone and wallet.

b.Weatherproofing protects the interior from water, sand, salt, sunscreen or bug spray. If you are going to a damp or humid environment get a silica gel pack to help absorb moisture.

c.The camera bag needs to be easy to open for quick shots.

d.Padded shoulder strap for day long tours.

Tamrac has a good variety of camera bags small, messenger and back packs. Take your camera with you to your local Wolf Camera. Try it on and see how it feels. Make sure you have enough room for the wallet, cell phone and keys. Tamrac camera bags range from $20-50. Back packs around $100-150.

2.Pack batteries.

Take plenty of regular batteries or even better, rechargeable batteries. Just don’t forget to take the recharger. If travelling overseas, pack a power adapter, but make sure the power adaptor is the right adapter for your charger and will have the right voltage.

3.Memory cards for digital cameras or film (for non-digital):

a.Digital cameras are best for trips but it’s good to have a strategy. Photos must make it home. Therefore just a big memory card may not be the best idea. How about using multiple memory cards; sending to your home computer; or even to the iPod?

b.For film cameras, it’s more difficult for traveling due to airport checks. Make sure you have transparent tubes. Check with the airlines for guidelines before putting your film in lead lined bags or transparent tubes.

4.Pack your best gadgets.

You bought the camera for opportunities like this so don’t leave your good stuff at home and make average photos. Pack filters for glare, zoom for distance and lenses for close ups or vistas. This is the time to use your camera to its fullest potential to make great pictures. If you are concerned about losing expensive equipment, buy insurance.

5.Tripod or monopod.

Some monopod may have feet for stability; however, it’s not quite as bulky as the typical tripod. Consider buying a tripod that converts into a monopod.

And whatever you do, don’t forget your reading material; the manual, a photography magazine or a digital guide. You never know what you’ll need to know. These will give great tips to lighting, exposure and editing. Even the simple cameras now can do so many things; the manual is an important resource to have with you. Overall, when going to an adventure for your photography endeavor, it is important that you bring with you the right materials. First, this is for your own convenience and comfort. Second, this is for your safety and protection. Lastly, this is for you to have an amazing adventure. For more information, you can visit here.
